[Eco Lifestyle event] Green Living 2015

The inaugural Green Living 2015 opened its doors to the public on the 4th September 2015 at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre. The exhibition is conceptualized to be Singapore’s dedicated sustainability and design show, which was held in conjunction with The International Green Building Conference (IGBC) 2015, Build Eco Xpo (BEX) Asia and Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) Asia.

Green Living 2015 boosted an encouraging sign to alert the general public as well as the younger generation on the environmental consciousness. It is positioned as the FIRST lifestyle event that focuses on meeting the needs of eco-conscious consumers and businesses as well as educating the public on how to adopt an ‘eco-lifestyle’.

Meryl and I started off our eco tour by sharing a green tip to get a complimentary cup of frozen yoghurt,

BMW showcased their award winning electric and hybrid cars at the event too!

We experienced the inaugural BCA Green Office Pop-Up, an interactive ‘green office’ that offers green tips and benefits for office users, building owners and landlords.

We also attended the ‘Fashion with Conscience, from Day to Night’ fashion show which was presented by Zhai Collection. The models were the finalists of the Miss Earth Singapore 2015 contestZhai is the first eco fashion brand in Singapore.

Zhai carries a full collection of styles made from bamboo fibre and strives to be an environmentally responsible clothing brand which offers simple, classic and versatile pieces, without compromising on quality, style or affordability.

At the inaugural Green Living 2015, we saw many interesting exhibits of technology and ideas, participated in fun activities and workshops and gained knowledge on how to lead an eco-lifestyle.

The most innovative item I felt was the Eco Love Machine’ (ELM), where visitors can recycle their plastic bottles and paper cups at the machine, to obtain a reward of a few gifts for this little gesture to live green.

There was a lined-up of an array of workshops and seminars that helped us to embark on our eco-lifestyle journey.

Homeowners can also join Khai, the city farmer from Microgreens, who will share insights on how to grow your own vegetables and herbs and turn them into healthy meals that nourish the family.

I got my planting kit from Microgreens, and I can’t wait to start planting my organic Oriental Mustard, which takes about 6–10 days to harvest.

We pledged our thoughts to save the earth and to make a better place for living by printing our palm prints or color our motifs with Nippon Paint to seal our promises!

Thanks Botanicaire for this lovely sushi plant, which I have placed on my office desk. It beautifies my work station as well as to purify the air in a natural way too.

Thanks for the invite and I look forward to the next installment of Green Living in 2016. Showering our love to our Mother Earth starts from us, so let’s ‘Go Green’!
