Sparks by DBS
A handful of us were invited to the event was held at DBS Asia X, which is located at the Sandcrawler Building in Fusionopolis. The event was also attended by entrepreneurs, the media and bankers too.
During the event, we were
treated to a sneak peek at DBS SPARKS Episode 6: 'New Beginnings'. DBS is
so thoughtful to have prepared binge boxes for all attendees while watching the
SPARKS mini-series.

Through this
mini-series, DBS hopes to convey the true meaning of banking, whereby to
change the perception that banking is only about transactions. DBS believes in going the extra mile for customers so that they
can achieve their dreams and get more out of life. To make things
happen, while leaving customers with the time and space to do what matters the
most.
Since the launch in February 2016, DBS introduced Sparks Episodes 1-5 and their trailers have garnered more than 42 million views and over 1.7 million digital engagements across the region.
Sparks, by DBS, is an industry-first mini-series that follows a group of young bankers as they juggle between their work and their personal lives. Inspired by true stories, they challenge the status quo to go above and beyond when solving unusual client challenges conversations
and meaningful experiences.
The latest episode 6 launches today on the 17th of March 2017. This series was inspired
by the true story of Zaya Learning Labs, and throughout the episode, it shows you how a social
enterprise makes use of technology and innovation to
bring education to children in low-income communities. This episode
depicts the challenges Zaya faces as it challenges the current the education landscape
and closes the educational gap to provide world-class
learning to such communities. Zaya Learning Labs was the grand
prize winner in the inaugural DBS-NUS Social Venture Challenge Asia.
Apart from the
preview of the latest episode, there was a panellist session too. meet 'n' greet - Neil D’Souza, Founder of Zaya Learning
Labs, Dr Alex Lin, Head of SGInnovate, DBS Business Class
Advisor, Gillian Tee, Co-founder and CEO of Homage and David Pong,
Co-founder of WateROAM.
I was inspired by the
panellists, as they shared with us on how their innovation came about, the
challenges they faced and how social enterprises helped them to fulfil their
dreams.
Watch Sparks, and through these industry-first mini series, DBS
hopes to spark new ideas and possibilities. Like the line from Walt Disney says,
'All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them!'
