[meal gathering] Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery + Platform 1094

Happy weekend!

An alert to all Bak Kwa lovers, your dream has come true if you relish and enjoy the yummy jerky meat by Bee Cheng Hiang! I was introduced by Meryl to the Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery. It is located at Serangoon Road where diners can sit-in to enjoy fusion cuisine incorporated with their famous Bak Kwa.

I met up with my favorite people for a meal gathering at Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery!

We started off with Bak Kwa Spring Rolls, and we found it pretty decent, nothing to shout about!

Bak Kwa goes great with anything! I used to eat them with plain porridge or make Bak Kwa sandwiches. During our visit to the Grillery, we had Bak Kwa Pasta and Bak Kwa Pizza.

I really loved the Crispy Fried Enoki Mushrooms in the Truffled Mushroom Salad. This dish uses three types of mushrooms - button mushrooms, king oyster mushrooms and shimeiji mushrooms together with the Sliced Beef Bak Kwa and it was incredibly delicious.

There was also a sous vide egg in the salad which enhanced the taste and the presence of the dish! A plateful of lettuce is served on the side for the salad to be eaten as a wrap.

We also ordered DIY Sliders, and chose Golden Coin (pork) Bak Kwa. Sides include caramelized onions, quail eggs and house-made sambal mayonnaise. The deconstructed sliders allowed us to have fun customizing our own Bak Kwa Sliders.

We combined the ingredients together, and the sweetness from the Bak Kwa paired well with caramelized onions, and the fiery sambal mayo gave an intense aroma to the sliders!

Thanks to Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery for the complimentary desserts - Bak Kwa Swiss Roll and Floss Swiss Roll. These are exclusively available at the Bee Cheng Hiang GrilleryThe fluffy and buttery rolls are filled with cream and tender bits of Bak Kwa and aromatic pork floss.

The damage was pretty affordable after deduction of the complimentary dining discount vouchers from Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery!

Our meet-up date continued, and we visited the Platform 1094 - Harry Potter Café! We were excited to discover the magical world of Harry Potter and his adventures.

The Platform 1094 is a Harry Potter-themed café and it is inspired by the famous Platform 9 3/4 from the Harry Potter series. It is also the first wizard themed café in Singapore.

Upon entering the premises, I felt that I was at Hogwarts, as the interior featured brick walls, wood-panelled ceilings, and soft chandelier light fixtures that were reminiscent of the castle.

It is located at a corner of Serangoon Road, and the cafe was was actually in plain sight. The chairs are upholstered with a deer print and I love the tissue boxes which look like old leather-bound books.

The Butterscotch Ale was thick and creamy in texture and slightly fizzy during consumption. To me, it looked like cake batter but it was a must try as stated under the menu.

The unique potion-like drinks created effects when mixed, akin to casting a real magical spell! It was so interesting…

Thanks so much for making time for this gathering, and we had a wonderful time exploring new eatery places in Singapore!
