Birthday Celebration at Etna Italian Restaurant + Dinner at Tipo Pasta Bar & Paradise Teochew
Upon arrival, we were led to our table! A complimentary bread basket was served shortly after being seated. The bread with accompanying olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasted divine!
We ordered a bowl of Cioppino, and it turned out to be a delicious seafood stew! The tomato stock complimented the seafood well. Baby thoroughly loved it, as did I!
Etna Italian Restaurant is a perfect place to enjoy a leisurely meal in a white tablecloth restaurant at a reasonable price. We had a wonderful dinner, and I would recommend eating here if you are nearby the area!
Baby, I hope you had a memorable birthday celebration. Being a lovely and nice wife like I always am, I hope you will love my gift for you. Looking forward to October to enjoy your present with me! Ich Liebe Dich, Baby!
Thanks SM for getting a cake from Barcook on Baby’s Birthday! Appreciate loads!
Baby and I recently checked out an amazing place - Tipo Pasta Bar which is located at Aliwal Street.
It was totally Instagram-worthy. The place has a good number of seats and a cosy vibe.
When I walked in, I was greeted by this cool setup of the day's pasta choices. They had these fancy names like Mafalde, Gemelli, and Campanelle. Their pastas are freshly made daily and infused with different ingredients each time. Which means that there will be different types of pastas for you to choose from, for every single visit.
We started off with Calamari Rings, and they tasted great!
Tipo Pasta Bar has got this Build Your Own Pasta thingy. You pay around S$9.90, and you get to pick your pasta, sauce, and extras.
My Friday dinner date with my Baby at Paradise Teochew which is located at Level 3 of Takashimaya. It offers authentic Teochew-style classic dishes. Upon entering the premises, we were led to our seats and started off our meal with some appetizers and complimentary glutinous tea.
We loved the greenies, and it was pretty a big hit for us! I simply couldn't stop once I started to my first serving!
When it comes to Teochew classics, Teochew Style Stewed Duck with Yam (half duck) took centre-stage for me. After a long hour of cooking, the duck meat was so tender that it easily pulled right off the bone. The dish also had cubes of yam which enhanced an added creamy texture to the flavorful gravy. This is definitely a chef recommended dish!
I really enjoyed the Wok-fried ‘Hor Fun’ with Kai Lan and Preserved Turnip, as it had a boost of wok hei. I especially loved the preserved turnips which added a salty crunch to the soft flat rice noodles (hor fun).
Being a Paradise Group Member, Baby was given a SGD50 voucher with a minimum spending of SGD100. We still had to pay SGD115 for our dinner. From this damage, you can probably figure out that dining at Paradise Teochew is kinda steep! However, although the damage was hefty, but the delicious food served and on point service made up for it!
