[Japan Fall Vacation] 2D1N in Kinosaki Onsen

We said goodbye to Okayama after spending 3 nights there. We were excited to head to our next destination, Kinosaki Onsen. We checked out of the hotel in the morning, and after having our breakfast in the hotel, we made our way to the JR station to board the JR Limited Express. The journey was around 2.5hours.

Upon reaching Kinosaki Onsen Station, we took the complimentary shuttle to our accommodation. We booked a night's stay at Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei - a traditional ryokan in Kinosaki Onsen. It offers a blend of Japanese aesthetics and modern comforts.

We were given a welcome drink at the hotel lobby bar while waiting for our room to be ready. At the same time, we each received a ¥1000 cash voucher to purchase some omiyage from the hotel itself.  You could also use the vouchers for their special private onsens, but we decided to use these vouchers for souvenirs instead!

Upon checking in, we informed the staff to fix our time-slot for our dinner! The room was well equipped with all the necessities and essentials. The private onsen was a lovely treat. It was a wonderful feeling, to enjoy the onsen before heading for our dinner.

Kinosaki Onsen is renowned for its bath-hopping experience that feature seven public baths. This was my first visit to Kinosaki Onsen, and it exceeded my expectations!

The Ryokan was also very kind to prepare some Japanese desserts for us. They tasted pretty good, and I loved it! How I wish that I could have gotten an additional serving!

Our stay included a seasonal kaiseki dinner, and each dish was artfully prepared. We had our dinner at one of the private rooms at Restaurant Ricca

I love the succulent wagyu beef and the delicate sweetness of crab legs.

As our half-board ryokan stay was only for a night, we decided to enjoy the ryokan facilities and also took the complimentary shuttle service to town to pick up some additional souvenirs after our dinner.

While we were having our dinner, our Futon beds were prepared by the staff. Although visitors are encouraged to wear the traditional yukata robes while strolling the charming streets, we decided to change to our normal clothes to board the shuttle bus to town instead! We picked up quite a number of things from some of the quaint shops.

The next day, a Japanese-styled breakfast was served at the dining hall. We checked out at 10am, and we took the free shuttle back to station. Thanks so much Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei for the wonderful stay and kind hospitality.

Upon reaching the JR Station, we were fortunate to get the next available train to Kyoto before heading back to Osaka, as we were selected to visit the Nintendo Museum through a balloting system. Stay tuned for my experience at the newly opened Nintendo Museum!
