[food review] Nan Yang Dao + Sin Hock Heng Teochew Porridge

With its reasonable prices and extensive menu, Nan Yang Dao is like a one-stop shop for Malaysian delights. The eatery also adds new items to the menu from time to time. This time, I am at their latest outlet - 100AM to discover their new dishes. The wide selection of food and beverages makes Nan Yang Dao a versatile dining option. It is a great place to go to satisfy your Malaysian cravings without having to cross over the border.

The Lychee Drink was refreshing, and I enjoyed every sip of it. This is a comforting drink for anyone, and you can adjust the sweetness if you are watching your diet!

The Special Iced Milo Dinosaur certainly has its own charm, being a Singapore/Malaysia classic drink. The rich Milo powder on top gradually mixes into the drink, creating a fun and visually appealing experience. Each sip was enjoyable and satisfying.

The Puff Pastry Egg Tart at Nan Yang Dao is of the thicker type, with egg custard in a flaky layered pastry. It was buttery and flaky, and I loved the mild sweet creamy custard filling. It was a delectable snack for me!

The Penang Pasar Malam Fried Carrot Cake caught me by surprise for its yumminess. These bouncy cubes were cooked together with bean sprouts and eggs.

We absolutely love the Nanyang Curry Omu Rice with Fried Chicken. Nanyang Dao is known for their rich coconut curry. It was delicious and is worthwhile to give it a try!

The Cantonese Style - Seafood Wah Tan Hor is a delicious new addition to Nanyang Dao’s menu. The portion is generous, with ample flat rice noodles and fresh seafood.

The star of this dish is the creamy egg sauce, which is sweet, rich, and utterly addictive. I loved the smooth eggy texture which enhanced the noodles and made it taste even better! It provides diners with a comforting and flavorful satisfying meal.

Be sure to grab some of their Homemade Samba Chili Paste from their merchandise corner. The sambal chili is suitable for frying / steaming / stir-frying, while it can also be eaten directly with food. It tastes unique and delicious. The sambal adds a spicy kick that enhances the overall taste, making it a comforting choice for any meal.

After-work weekday dinner at Sin Hock Heng Teochew Porridge with the girls was great! The eatery is known for their affordability and the service rendered was accommodative and friendly.

Teochew porridge is rice porridge that is commonly served with various side dishes. It is most definitely classic Singaporean soul food and there’s no doubt about that.

Sin Hock Heng may not be some Michelin-revered eatery, but it is definitely the place to go if you are looking for reasonably priced Teochew porridge. This eatery opens daily, so supper lovers, it looks like you guys should know where to go to satisfy your late-night supper cravings!

Comforting Teochew porridge with a wide variety of dishes is best shared with a group so gather your family and friends. Don't miss the savory steamed minced meat when you are there!
