Baby's Birthday Celebration at Paradise Teochew + Jumbo Seafood Restaurant

I recently had a dinner date with my Baby at Paradise Teochew which is located at Level 3 of Takashimaya. The restaurant offers authentic Teochew-style classic dishes. Upon entering the premises, we were led to our seats and started off our meal with some appetizers and complimentary Glutinous Tea.

We loved the Steamed Bamboo Clam with Garlic and I simply couldn't stop eating once I started on my first serving!

I really enjoyed the Wok-fried ‘Hor Fun’ with Kai Lan and Preserved Turnip, as it had a boost of wok hei. I especially loved the preserved turnips which added a salty crunch to the soft flat rice noodles (hor fun).

We also had Teochew styled Pan-fried and Stewed Tofu. The Tofu cubes were laid on a bed of vermicelli in a light savory sauce. Baby and I are fans of bean curd and vermicelli, and we enjoyed it extremely! If you are a fan of such delights, then this will definitely hit the mark for you! The generous amount of vermicelli under the bean curd soaked up the sauce which made it super yummy!

Being a Paradise Group Member, as well as it being Baby's birthday month, he had a $50 discount voucher to offset the total bill. Even with this discount, we still had to pay SGD140 for our dinner. From this damage, you can probably figure out that dining at Paradise Teochew is kinda steep! However, although the damage was hefty, but the delicious food served and top notch service made up for it!

We decided to have a crab feast for dinner at Jumbo Seafood Restaurant which is located at East Coast Park to end Baby’s birthday. We started off with a plate of yummy Pork Satay

We ordered a plate of Deep-Fried Seafood You Tiao, and it tasted great with its accompanying dipping sauce. Not to forget, we also decided to have our 'MUST-ORDER' item - Steamed Bamboo Clam with Garlic, which was tremendously flavorful and tasted awesome

Of course, the highlight of the night - Jumbo's Signature Chilli Crab, and we ordered some Fried Mantou to go along with the delicious gravy.

We ended our dinner with their Signature Teochew dessert - Orh Nee. The yam paste was smooth and not overly sweet – just perfect in the way that we love!

The damage was SGD120 after a reduction of SGD100 (Jumbo birthday voucher). We had a delightful dinner night-out, and Jumbo Seafood is the perfect place for you if you have high expectations for fresh seafood!
