[September 2025] Kuala Lumpur Staycation

A short weekend getaway to Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia is always a great welcome for me! We booked our flight with Scoot. Our flight was scheduled on a Friday night at 20:30hrs, and we did our check-in online. We made our way to the airport after our work, and we had our quick dinner at the airport before boarding.

The flight left on schedule, and upon reaching KLIA2, we were greeted by a pleasant sight ; The line was short at the custom immigration! We waited in the line for about 15 minutes to clear the customs.

We headed straight to the e-hailing area to wait for our grab-driver! It took us approximately an hour+ to get from the airport to our hotel. It cost us about RM70 and we checked into at the hotel at almost midnight.

EQ has always been our top choice when it come to our accommodation in KL. We were glad and surprised that the staff at the Equatorial Club Lounge remembered us!

We now always book our rooms via their main website instead of a third-party website booking. As usual, our room was located on the 49th floor, and we were greeted with a warm welcome card together with a plate of fresh fruits and a box of Praline Chocolates.

All the drinks in the mini bar were complimentary! The luxurious bathroom amenities are from the Italian brand, Bvlgari.

Once we checked in to the hotel, we decided to have some drinks and went up to Sky51, which is located at the highest level of EQ Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Our overall experience was amazing.

After our drinks, we went back to our room and headed to bed after our shower. It has been a long and fulfilling day!

Good morning, Malaysia! It was nice to be greeted by a nice view from my room

The Equator Club Lounge is located on level 50, which was a level above our room! It offers quite a decent selection of food.

After breakfast, we headed down to the Bukit Bintang area for our usual shopping routine.

Baby found a nice place - Restoran Yap Hup Kee for lunch which is located at Pudu, and they are well known for their unique Curry Chee Cheong Fun and Hakka-style Yong Tau Foo. It is listed under the Michelin Bib Gourmand recommendations.

The Curry Chee Cheong Fun tasted so good, and I loved the crispy and crunchy fried shrimp bits that were in the curry broth. I liked the thin and smooth texture of the rice sheet noodles.

The damage for our delightful lunch was less than RM60. We loved the quality of the food served, and with such affordable price tag, we will definitely be back again.

We walked back to EQ Hotel Kuala Lumpur after our fruitful shopping to enjoy our afternoon tea at the Club Lounge! It was nice to be greeted by a nice view from the Club Lounge

The Afternoon Tea Set consists of assorted sandwiches, a couple of savory tart items, scones and cakes.

We went back to our room to ‘lepak’ after our tea, and were pleased that our used amenities, such as towels, mini-bar’s drinks and tea bags were topped up. Thumbs up for their top-notch service!

The Club Lounge provided us with all three meals - Breakfast, followed by Afternoon Tea and lastly, the Evening Cocktails with Canapés. We headed down to the Club Lounge again for our Evening Hors d’oeuvres.

We took a ‘grab’ down to Luce Osteria Contemporanea which is located at Raja Chulan's Old Malaya, a century-old heritage building in the shadow of KL Tower to celebrate Baby’s birthday.

This eatery place is a lovely choice for pizzas, pastas and other Italian pleasures. The ambiance was cozy, creating the perfect setting for a delightful meal.

The Spaghetti alle Vongole tasted awesomely delicious. It delivers all of the right flavours, and the pasta was al dente. The pizza was perfect! The mozzarella cheese stretches beautifully, and the tomato sauce covering the base is gently sweet – just how we like it.

Luce Osteria Contemporanea is listed in the Top 50 Best Pizzerias in Asia and certainly The Best in Malaysia. Guess, we found another good gem in KL!

We woke up early the next day to enjoy having a morning dip before having our breakfast. No stay at the EQ Hotel, Kuala Lumpur is complete without having a dip at the beautiful infinity pool. What a nice way to relax and start off the day.

After the pool session, we went back to our room to have a quick shower before heading up to the Club Lounge to enjoy our breakfast.

During our breakfast session, we requested for a late check-out at 2pm, which was granted immediately! We truly had a wonderful staycation with EQ HOTEL KL!

The staff was so sweet to prepare a slice of cake for Baby’s Birthday.

We used to patronise Village Park Restaurant for their famous Nasi Lemak, but recently the line has gotten longer and longer due to the over-whelming crowds. We decided to try another eatery place to have our Nasi Lemak fix just a few blocks down the road from Village Park Restaurant instead.

We went to the 'Say Yes Café'. The nasi lemak was surprisingly as good as Village Park, which I think I should have gate-keep for myself, but I didn’t as I'm talking about it here! While they were not as busy as Village Park, they did have a decent crowd. However finding a table was still a breeze!

We ordered Ayam Goreng, Ayam Rendang, and Sambal Sotong. We will be back again for its value for money yummy nasi lemak.

For our last meal before leaving KL, we had Bak Kut Teh for dinner at Subang Jaya SS14 before heading to the airport!

As our flight back to Singapore was around 10.30pm at night, we were so glad that we had managed to try out so much nice food and do so much shopping in Kuala Lumpur. We will be back again soon!
