Fall Vacation - Day 03 - Day tour to Amanohashidate and Ine

The day trip to Amanohashidate and Ine is the main highlight of our itinerary in Osaka.

Amanohashidate (天橋立, Heaven’s bridge in Japanese) is renowned for its scenery and is recognised as one of Japan's Three Scenic Views. We purchased the tickets via Klook prior to our trip. It was a 3-hrs bus ride from Osaka to Amanohashidate with a stop at Kyoto station.

The pick-up point was a 8-10 minutes walk from our hotel. We had our brekkie before our day tour.

Upon reaching Amanohashidate, we were eager to get the best view of the sandbar from the top, and it can be accessed by cable car or chair-lift. To save time, we took the individual chair-lift instead, as the wait time for the cable car was a 20 minutes interval period.

The chair-lift is constantly running so you don’t waste time waiting. I highly recommended the chair-lift as it was so much fun. Do note that, the chair-lift, however, doesn’t have any belt so you must sit carefully along the ride.

Located in the Northern Kyoto Prefecture, Amanohashidate is a popular attraction. It is a natural land bridge, covered with pine trees situated in a protected bay. The view is breath-taking and unique, especially the ‘Bridge to Heaven’ view.

We also went for the Cycle Car - a pedal-powered cycle cart located at Amanohashidate View Land. This is highly recommended by me, as this activity offers a fun and unique experience to enjoy the panoramic views of the scenic sandbar, which is one of Japan's three most beautiful views. I totally love this unique way to move at my own pace to enjoy the view.

We took the chair-lift to Amanohashidate Village Town for some souvenir shopping.

We had our lunch at the village town before heading to the next destination!

Our day trip included the Village of Ine, and we took some random photos against the historical boathouses.

I would say this tour is a perfect day trip from Osaka or Kyoto, as you get to enjoy the scenic view with a laid-back vibe. Therefore, spending one day in Amanohashidate is a fantastic way to enjoy the picturesque town in Northern Kyoto.

We ended our tour by enjoying a ferry ride from the Tango Ichinomiya Boat Dock back to our starting point. This 12-minute ferry ride is another ambient viewing experience and hand-feeding seagulls (optional, remember to bring snacks!) are included on the ferry ride.

Osaka is known for its delicious okonomiyaki, and a trip to Osaka is not really complete without having delicious Okonomiyaki.

Baby made a reservation at Konamondokoro Mitsukuni which is located at Osaka's vibrant Namba-Sennichimae which was only 5-minutes walk from Namba Station. This eatery place delivers an elevated take on traditional Japanese street food - Okonomiyaki

This restaurant features all tatami seating, and the interior was calm yet stylish. The okonomiyaki was incredibly fluffy, and the sauce was delicious!

The ‘Seafood Special Okonomiyaki’ was top-notch as it was made with light and fluffy batter packed with seafood flavor. It was simply exquisite!

Don’t miss out on this awesome restaurant, if you're looking to experience a high-level of Okonomiyaki in Osaka. This eatery place is definitely the one to visit even though the damage was on a higher side! Do take note that advance reservations are needed, as they are always full!

Dotonburi is known as a gastronomic street for great reasons. The best time to go there is at night, as the entire area is illuminated with vibrant lights.

We called it a day after our meal, as we were all tired from our day tour! Stay tuned for my next write up on our Universal Studio Japan experience!
