[Feb 2026] Kuala Lumpur Staycation

A short weekend getaway to KL, Malaysia is a welcome (break) for me, and it is something I always look forward to. It serves as a chance to recharge myself after weeks of stressful work. We booked our flight to Kuala Lumpur (KL) by Scoot. Our flight was scheduled on a Friday night at 1940hrs, and we did our check-in online. We rushed our way to airport after our work. We only got there at 1910hrs, and we were relieved to learn that the flight had been delayed to 2005hrs.

The boarding gate only opened at 1920hrs, so we proceeded to print the physical boarding pass. We did not want to encounter the same situation regarding the priority boarding during our previous trip.

While on the plane, we were super hungry, as we ate nothing after our lunch break at work. Upon reaching KLIA2, we were greeted by a huge crowd and it only took us around 20-30mins to clear customs!

Since we had taken an earlier flight as opposed to the one we usually do, we decided to take our time and have our dinner at the airport before making our way to our hotel. We settled our dinner at Grandma’s which is located at the arrival hall of KLIA2.

We loved their Chicken Satay and Ipoh Hor Fun, and the dishes are definitely worth trying!

EQ has always been our top choice when it comes to our accommodation in KL. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to get a room at our usual hotel as it was fully booked. We decided to stay at The Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur to build up on our tier under the Marriott Bonvoy group.

After our late dinner, we headed down to the e-hailing area to catch a Grab Taxi, and it took us approximately an hour+ from the airport to our hotel. It cost us RM82, which is little pricier than what we usually pay. We checked in at the hotel slightly past midnight!

Upon reaching the hotel, the first impression of the hotel was jaded! I could pretty confidently say the rooms weren’t refreshed. As we were staying at the Club Level Room, the Club Wing has its own private entrance and check-in lobby dedicated exclusively for club guests.

Our room is located at level 8, and we were greeted with a warm welcome card together with some brownies! The room was spacious! All the drinks at the mini bar were chargeable! The luxurious bathroom amenities are from the Parisian fragrance brand Diptyque.

Due to the age of the property, the room was far from impressive. Nevertheless, there is one thing that stood out about this hotel, and it is the excellent location! What this hotel really excelled at was a Solid Club Lounge offering. They offer Breakfast, Light Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Evening Hors d’oeuvres & Cocktails and Desserts & Cordials.

Good morning, KL! The Club Lounge is located on ground level at the Club Wing of The Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur. The dining area was kinda small but the breakfast spread was pretty delicious. However, ambience wise I still prefer the club lounge at EQ!

After breakfast, we headed down to visit a viral café which was located at Pavilion KL. The hotel we stayed was literally opposite the building!

13De Marzo elevates up the café scene by giving a free little teddy bear with your purchased drink!

After getting our latte fix, we went for our usual shopping routine. I spotted an interesting collaboration between Uniqlo and Oriential Kopi.

Before heading back to the hotel to get our light lunch, we joined in on the fun activities at the pop up event - SmartHeart.

I completed all 4 tasks, and I got myself a pillow cushion!

This was the menu for our light lunch at the club, and we both ordered a Greek Salad and Caesar Salad to start with.

I had the Egg and Chives Sandwich Tamago Sando, while Baby had the Tangy Home-Smoked Salmon.

After our lunch, we went out again for more shopping after offloading our loots in the room. This time, there were so many good deals on clothing and household products. Time to head back to the hotel to enjoy our afternoon tea after our fruitful shopping.

The Afternoon Tea Set consists of assorted sandwiches, a couple of savory tart items, scones and cakes. The selection was way lesser than what EQ offers!

After our Afternoon Tea, we went up to the room to rest till Evening Hors d’oeuvres & Cocktails. We didn't eat much as we are saving our stomach for something delicious...

We grabbed down to Publicans 良品公館 for our light dinner. It is a Chinese-style bistro and bar offering a blend of local, Chinese, and Western dishes.

The KL Hokkien Mee was delicious. I was SOLD!

This place is a real find, and it definitely passes the vibes check! Great food with good service. I will certainly be visiting Publicans again!

We decided to walk back to our hotel to shake off some calories. The walk was about 15-20mins, and we strolled down the streets holding hands together! The distance didn’t seem long for us, as we chatted while walking back to the hotel. What a great quality time spent!

We didn’t go for our usual morning dip in the pool, as I prefer the pool at EQ! We headed straight to the Club Lounge to enjoy our breakfast. We requested for a late check-out at 1pm, which was granted immediately!

The European stylings of the Club Wing certainly offer their own charm to their guests. The only reason that I will choose to come back is the easy access to the shopping destinations in the Bukit Bintang vicinity.

We went out for last minute shopping before checking out. I saw this Daikin event which was being held outside Starhill Mall. I came to browse after checking out from the hotel.

These were the freebies I received from the event! I love the blind box ❤️

We visited our relatives at their place - Damansara. Nice to meet you all!

We went to Super Kitchen Chilli Pan Mee for our late lunch. The chilli pan mee came with a generous portion of ingredients on top of the noodles – stir-fried minced pork, anchovies, and an onsen egg. The chilli isn’t included in the bowl – instead, it’s in a container on the table, so we could add as much or as little as we wanted.

The stir-fried minced pork was super tasty, and the combination of the minced pork and runny egg gave the noodles rich umami flavors. What we loved most was definitely the chilli as it enhanced the taste even better!

We enjoyed the sliced tender and juicy pork chop too! The Super Kitchen Chilli Pan Mee is definitely worth a visit!

We went for more shopping at IOI Mall Damansara before heading to the airport. I picked up an Eyeliner & Mascara Blind box featuring Kuromi from Watsons. This box cost me RM39!

As our flight back to Singapore was around 10pm at night, we were so glad that we had managed to do so much shopping in Kuala Lumpur over the weekend. See you again, KL!
