HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR 2026

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR!!

I had a simple yet harmonious reunion dinner on the eve of CNY at the Hey Kee Restaurant, which is located at the old Singapore Badminton Hall with Mum V, Baby Hubby, Bro Kenneth and his wifey. We kicked things off with the Abalone Yusheng, a familiar ritual done well.

The Prosperity Pen Cai was the natural centrepiece. Layered with premium ingredients, each scoop captured the essence of the Chinese New Year atmosphere.

The Steamed Turbot with Superior Soy Sauce - the simplest preparations are the most satisfying.

I loved the Lotus Leaf Rice with Eight Treasures very much. It was fragrant and comforting!

Lunar New Year is celebrated widely by the Chinese all over the world, as it marks a fresh annual start! To usher in this Year of the Horse, we picked up two potted plants for good luck!

During the covid19 restrictions, we had to cut down on house visiting. While it has been a few years since then, my parents still maintain this habit of not doing excessive house visiting, even though the restrictions have been lifted. Therefore, we kept the CNY celebration to just within our family on the first day of CNY. We had already gotten used to the restrictions since 4-5 years ago!

I spent my CNY DAY 1 at my parent’s place for lunch, and we had Dim Sum for dinner. After our meal, my brother sent my parents home, before heading over to GV Tampines to meet the rest of us to watch the Singapore movie – ‘Luck My Life!’. The kids enjoyed the show very much.

On the second day of CNY, Both KaeGirl and I 'twinned' as we wore a pair of black loafers and high socks! We went to Toa Payoh to visit our Godma, whom is also my mom's elder sister. We spent our afternoon playing BlackJack, and we had our dinner there too.

Happy Birthday, Byakko! She is One, and has become part of our life and has an important role in the family.

Baby made a reservation at Jumbo Seafood Restaurant. We visited the branch at The Riverwalk. Baby is a member of Jumbo Seafood, so he received a complimentary Yu Sheng!

'Lo Hei' is a tradition during the CNY period that is believed to bring good luck and prosperity for the whole year. We will never miss out on this, especially since Baby loves this dish very much. Here's to a bountiful and blessed year for us ahead!

We started off with a plate of Mocha Pork Spare Ribs.

For our main dish of Chilli Crab, we ordered some Fried Mantou to go along with the delicious gravy. We had a great Crab Feast, and of course it was a great celebration for us! Our dinner damage was SGD160!

It has been quite a while since we last met up with one another. Eddy arranged for a gathering session with me, S, R, E and I at Yang Ming Seafood, which is located at Bishan area.

It was still the CNY period when we met up, and naturally our meal started with Fai Cai Yu Sheng for our ‘Lo Hei’ Celebration.

I end my post with my 开工大吉 红包 from my bosses!
