[Northwestern USA trip] Day 7 in Portland - Downtown Portland

Image
Good morning, Portland, Oregon ! We wanted to explore Portland after our brekkie at the hotel café, as the hotel provide their in-house guests a pair of complimentary street-car tickets every morning when they head out for their day. Luckily for us, the street-car station is located right outside the hotel! We picked up the tickets at the reception, and we made use of them to explore Downtown Portland !  Portland, Oregon is compact and easy to get around, and there is good public transportation available. The locals are friendly and there are many choices of delicious food! First stop: Pioneer Courthouse Square We grabbed some snacks from the food truck and hot coffee from Starbucks to relax at the Pioneer Courthouse Square, which is also known as Portland's living room. We did some shopping at Forever 21, as they were having clearance sales on the past season's (Summer) collection. There were many items that were on sale at not...

Sentosa Island Lights with Sanrio Characters + Lunch at Mui Kee Congee

The 'Sentosa Island Lights' event was back again, and the theme this time was characters from Sanrio! It featured  larger-than-life Sanrio character inflatables, including everyone’s favorite Hello Kitty, My Melody and the cutest Little Twin Stars .  The event had us going on a trip down memory lane at Sentosa, as it also showcased on the early beginnings and history of Sentosa!   I managed to secure a slot for Sentosa Island Lights with Sanrio Characters on a random Friday which was three days before the event ended. We made our way after our dinner at VivoCity. Upon entering the premises, we walked through this tunnel of heart shaped lights into the main Island Lights with Sanrio Characters grounds. This was the first light installation at Island Lights with Sanrio Characters once we entered the main ground. The larger than life Hello Kitty welcomed us with a harp that holds some of her favorite things, as well as a miniature Sentosa Gateway Arch ! The next sto...

Goodbye 2020 ; Hello 2021

For 2020, we opted out of our usual tradition to end our night on New Year's Eve by drinking at a bar. Instead, we had an afternoon tea at The Courtyard ,  The Fullerton Hotel for   our New Year’s Eve celebration. We spent quality time over our afternoon tea by sharing with each other on our plans for 2021 and of course, discussing on my upcoming birthday celebration as travelling remains restricted. As we grow older, we find that NYE is not about just having a 'Countdown', but is more akin to having a reflection on what we have achieved in 2020, and to start planning on goals for the New Year. Lastly, I end my NYE's OOTD at the hotel premises! May all my wishes come true! I wish for more social media collaboration opportunities, as well as an increment in salary from my company! On the second day of 2021, we met up with Meryl and the Lee family for a lunch gathering at  Wonderland  Savour which is located at  Wisma Atria . We took many random photos togeth...
