Due to the number of covid infection community cases that have been increasing in Singapore, our government announced additional measures and restrictions under Phase2HA (Heightened Alert) to minimize transmission of the virus as an effort to overcome this resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic in Singapore. Many companies in Singapore now remain under mandatory work-from-home (WFH) policies. I've already gotten used to the working from Home scheme, but honestly I pretty dislike it as weekends are no different from weekdays as we spent 24 hours by staying at home. Luckily, shopping malls and supermarkets are still in operation. We started off the measures from 16 May 2021 and some restrictions will ease on 13 June 2021. To reduce the risk of community transmission, indoor ‘mask-off’ activities such as dine-in F&B establishments ceased. I do think I have gotten somewhat used to this ‘whole new world’! My work normally begins at 8.30am, and now I do not have to waste time on travell...

We decided to use the remaining SRV vouchers that we had on another round of staycation. I guess the next one would be a while away in the future, as we are looking forward to our new home in June! We booked a night's stay at The Straits Club Heritage Room at The Fullerton Hotel . Unfortunately, our staycation occurred right at the beginning of the new heightened measures due to the worsening condition of COVID-19. Phase 2 (HA) actually kicked in on the day we checked in. The entire check-in experience was smooth and professionally executed. We were given a super early check-in in the morning at 10am. The room was filled with in-room amenities such as a Nespresso coffee machine as well as TWG Tea Bags.  I was pleased that the bathroom amenities were from Balmain Paris . As a guest at The Straits Heritage Club Room , we had access to The Straits Club – Fullerton Singapore Hotel’s Executive Lounge, but due to the present situation, the lounge was closed.
