Preview Screening: Bait 3D
Thanks Sweetie for extending her movie invitation to me once again to watch the preview screening of Bait 3D...
--- Posters of Bait 3D ---
Bait 3D is a 3D horror film and delivers much gore and suspense. It gets a bit boring and predictable. The running time for this movie is 93mins.
This movie is about a group of survivors from different walks of life who get trapped inside a submerged Supermarket after a Tsunami hits the coast of Queensland, Australia.
As they are trying to escape to safety, they soon find out that there are vicious great white sharks lurking in the water, and starved hungry for fresh meat. As the bloodthirsty sharks begin to pick the survivors off one by one, the group realizes that they must work together to find a way out without being eaten alive.
The film starts off a year back ago, before the Tsunami hits Australia’s Gold Coast. A young lifeguard Josh (starring Xavier Samuel) is happily engaged to Tina (played by Sharni Vinson), but tragedy hits when her brother, also his best friend aka fellow lifeguard, Rory who is killed in a shark attack.
A year later and Josh is still struggling to get over Rory’s death, and has separated from Tina. Now he is working in a supermarket. On the fateful day, Tina bumps into him at the supermarket with her new friend, Steven (starring Qi Yi Wu), when the coastal resort is hit by a Tsunami which floods the whole town, supermarkets and even car-parks.
I love the special effects where the Tsunami hits, and it is simply good and convincing too.

2.5/5
I think this movie must be Qi Yi Wu's first English speaking role as he speaks haltingly, I was surprised why he was chosen for the role and why the director did not get an actor who can speak much better.
Kudos to Adrian Pang, he acts pretty well in the show and he speaks fluently too, but it was a pity that his scene as the store manager was quite a short-lived.
The special effects on the sharks are pretty horrendous. Oh well, I think after so many decades, ‘JAWS’ still hold the most convincing looking sharks in it. This movie is way better than the cheap-frilled 'Shark Night 3D', but some scenes in 'Bait 3D' may seem unrealistic, and I think it could have done better.
