[France Summer Vacation] Day 09: Till we meet again Paris

Time flies, and our France holiday was about to be concluded. We were left with our last 2 nights in Paris!

With the rise in popularity of DIOR over the years, Shopping at Christian Dior in Paris is one of the items on my wish-list. Naturally, the DIOR shops in Paris have a very good selection. We saw everything from their Book Totes to their Lady Dior bags which came in all shapes and sizes.

Dior is much cheaper in Paris and other parts of Europe, and that explains why I got myself a MEDIUM DIOR BOBBY BAG (Blue Dior Oblique Jacquard) during my trip to Paris. I went to DIOR PARIS ROYALE which is located along Rue Royale.

Do you wonder why everyone will buy Designer Brand items when they visit Europe? The main reason is that you don’t have to pay for the shipping costs, import tax, duty costs and sales tax that is all built into the price you see in your home country. You are also qualified for the VAT Tax refund off the retail price.

If you are when in doubt, the best rule is to check which country the product is from, and the brand will be cheaper in that country. For example, DIOR is headquartered in Paris and therefore, it's cheaper in Europe and especially in France!

Yes, I saved about 30% from the retail price in Singapore. I am glad that I bought it, as it is a new classic for Dior that has becoming an everyday companion all thanks to its versatility and signature design.

Baby brought me to Montmartre for lunch, and we settled at Mamie Colette. They served authentic French cuisine. Everything is homemade and based on fresh produce. We started off with old-fashioned Deviled Eggs.

I had the Beef Bourguignon Burger, while Baby had Beef Bourguignon which came along with traditional Aligot, which was cheesy potato mash.

The stewed beef tasted good, and many say Mamie Colette cooks the best Beef Bourguignon in Paris.

We ended our meal with a lovely dessert, and the damage was pretty reasonable. Mamie Colette is a good choice) for a sit-in dining and definitely NOT a tourist trap!

We had a quick and light pre-dinner at LE BON PECHEUR after our shopping at Westfield Forum des Halles. The eatery place is located outside Les Halles Metro Station

After our meal, we made our way to Montparnasse Tower via Metro. It offers you to one of the absolute best views of Paris.

We were glad to experience the most beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower and of all Paris at 210 meters high!

The 360-degree view of Paris that you can enjoy from Montparnasse Tower is simply stunning! Thanks to the long summer days in Paris, we were still able to catch the sunset even though it was already past 21:00hrs!

We left the Paris Montparnasse Observatory at around 22:05hrs as the photo shows. It was our last night in Paris, and we need to do our packing to catch the flight back to Singapore the next day.

On our last day in Paris, after taking the breakfast at the hotel lobby, we checked out from our room. We left our luggage at the hotel while we headed out to enjoy some last-minute shopping in Paris.

Baby booked a luncheon for us at a Michelin Star restaurant - Restaurant Anne. It is located in the beautiful 5-star hotel, Pavillon de la Reine & Spa, in the heart of Place des Vosges.

We arrived at Restaurant Anne, and we were astonished by the beautiful courtyard. In my personal preference, I will always opt for a lunch whenever I visit popular Michelin Star restaurants. Lunch is typically more affordable than dinner and there are often great weekday specials. Reservation in advance is recommended.

Once we were seated, we were served to a beautifully-plated assorted amuse bouche.

Our main courses were absolutely phenomenal!

We ended off our meal with a lovely Chocolate Soufflé!

Restaurant Anne is truly gorgeous, boasting a clean elegant feel to it. All the dishes were magnificent and all beautifully presented, and it was an incredible dining experience!

As our flight was scheduled at at 6pm, we made our way back to our hotel as our airport transfer was waiting for us. Till we meet again Paris, I promise to be back soon!

I hear too. The better bags are a lot cheaper in Europe than in Asia
