[food review] Alter Ego + Frying Fish Club

Alter Ego is located at an amazing location at the Esplanade Mall with a nice view of the Marina Bay. It has chill vibes for a friends’ gathering night with good food and a good atmosphere.

Together with Tracy, we had a delightful lunch! We tried their Spicy Chicken PizzaHar Cheong Gai and Grilled Salmon Fillet.

Our drinks - Orange Juice and Ginger Ale

I enjoyed the crispy and juicy Har Cheong Kai. I did think that the aroma of prawn paste flavour could have been more prominent.

The crunchiness of the refreshing veggies was a real treat! The salmon fillet was perfectly grilled, and we savoured every bit of it!

The Spicy Chicken Pizza was topped with mozzarella cheese, spicy chilli, capsicum, black olives, chicken chili puree, parmesan cheese. The generous cheese as well as chicken toppings were torched to perfection, in order to create a delightful twist on a classic pizza!

Alter Ego has strong vibes as a cafe and bar concept, and this is one of the pull factors that will lure many to return again. The concept of the food at Alter Ego is ultimately juxtaposed between cafe and bar bites. The food they served was pretty generous in portion, which leans towards a communal dining style where the experience is best enjoyed by sharing the food!

When it comes to dining at the Frying Fish Club, it’s not just about fish and chips. This hidden gem in Singapore offers an array of tantalising dishes and beverages.

Our visit to the Frying Fish Club, which is situated along Owen Road, reignited our love for fish and chips! It offers a It offers classic Fish & Chips but with a twist! I love how the classic British dish went well with a Japanese twist. This modern Japanese twist left me craving for more!

The delicious Calamari – our all time-favorite, boasted a golden flavorful crispy exterior. Each piece of calamari was perfectly cooked.

The Signature Fish & Chips is a star dish that is served with a special Yuzu Miso Sauce, paired with special Edamame beans as a side. Love the zesty, citrusy notes of yuzu sauce that enhanced the taste with every bite of the fish!

Love their yummy fish & chips! The tempura batter was light and crunchy. It is a must-try for anyone visiting the Frying Fish Club.

For seaweed lovers, do not miss out on the Nori flavored Fish & Chips, as it offers pleasant umami flavors. I love the accompanying side - crunchy purple cabbage slaw.

For group diners, do order sides go with your mains! Grilled Fish Tacos, BBQ Wings and Calamari are highly recommended
