2D1N Batam Weekend Staycation + Chewy's Birthday Celebration

This was lucky Clique 7’s first overseas outing, and the main agenda was to celebrate Chewy’s birthday. We met up with one another at Harbourfront Centre, as we needed to get the boarding passes from the ticketing counter.

We boarded the Sindo ferry to Batam! The view was really lovely from the ferry! Thanks Meryl, for sharing her promo code with me, in order for RKM to get some discount off our total damage for our ferry tickets when we purchased them through the app.

Once we disembarked from the vessel at Batam Centre Ferry Terminal, we headed straight to clear the customs. The line was fairly long, as we waited about 30mins. Upon clearing the immigration at Batam, we went straight to the Mega Mall Batam Centre for lunch. We settled at Pempek Kolecta for lunch. We shared Pempek Campur (mixed fish cakes), and they tasted awesome!

Both Baby and I love the signature Tekwan (Fish cake in soup served with vermicelli) very much! Not to forget my favorite bottled drink, Teh Botol.

We split into 2 Grab-car to head to our accommodation, and after the Lee family went off first when their grab-car arrived, both Meryl and I got a birthday cake for Chewy to surprise her at night.

We took the grab to Woda Villa & Spa, and the grab-fare was just SGD3.50 for a 15 minute drive. Meryl and her hubby shared the 2-bedroom villa with the Lee family, while Baby and I will be stayed at a Studio Villa with a Private Pool.

As both our rooms weren’t ready because the check in time was set at 3pm, the Lee Family went to the zoo while Meryl and I with our partners went for some thrilling experience activity - ATV riding! We went to Elite Seaport Batam and booked a 30mins ATV ride which included a short 10mins forest ride. We paid INR700K for a double rider, as single rider would have cost us INR500K each.

For us, the ATV adventure was all about fun, freedom, and unforgettable moments!

Special thanks to the ride guide from Elite Seaport Batam for keeping us SAFE! The staffs were very humble and provided great service!

After our ride, we took a grab back to our villa, and we headed straight to our villas respectively.

This was RKM’s first visit to Woda Villa, and also our first villa trip in Batam! Overall, the experience was good, but I felt that there was still a big room for improvement.

My room was spacious, and the huge bathroom looked amazing, especially with the private pool. This place is the best spot for couples who desire a peaceful getaway, far away from the crowds.

As per Meryl, the villa was so nice to prepare a mini sized birthday cake for the birthday girl, Chewy.

After resting for an hour, we met up together to explore the stunning 'Barbie Pink Beach' at Bluefire Beach Club in Batam before sunset. Our table reservation was at 5pm.

As usual, we took grab to Batam's Bluefire Beach Club - it's a place featuring enchanting pink sand that attracts many visitors. Upon reaching the premises, there was a line to purchase the admission ticket to enter the picturesque destination. Each admit cost us INR50K which included a drink.

The place is known for is magical pink sand, but the vibe was off as it was really crowded! Despite of it, if you love pink and to take many beautiful photos, it's still a perfect chill out place in Batam.

The pink sand at Bluefire Beach Club is the main attraction for tourists. This ‘pink beach’ is known as the most Insta-worthy area of the club, it also has the best seats in the house to catch the sunset and views of the ocean.

We enjoyed the pretty pink sand, and delicious finger-food with great companions. A visit to the stylish Bluefire Beach Club rounded up the first day in Batam.

Next, we headed to New Windsor Food Court to have our seafood ‘dinper’(dinner+supper) as this place was highly recommended by Meryl’s Hubby.

We ordered many dishes which included steamed crabs, steamed prawn, steamed fish, hot plate venison, salted egg chicken and more to share among us. The total damage which included drinks we ordered was INR450K per couple.

After our dinner, we headed back to villa, and both Meryl and I started to prep the birthday celebration and also lit up the candles for the birthday cake which we had picked up earlier at the mall in the afternoon.

Both Baby and I went over to their villa to celebrate Chewy’s birthday.  Mission completed successfully! Happy Birthday, our dear friend - Chewy ❤️ Many Happy Returns!

I continued to stay at their place to chat till past midnight, while Baby went back to the room. The guys left us at the living room chatting, while they went up to their bedrooms on the upper level.

I made my way back to my room around 1am! It felt so good doing our girls’ chat in the middle of the middle night without any distractions from our partners.

The next day, our room stay was inclusive of breakfast, and we headed down to the cafe to enjoy the buffet spread! Their breakfast spread tasted food, but my only gripe was that the food choices were quite limited.

After brekkie, we went back to our rooms to lepak till check-out time, and both Baby and I went for a pool session. Time to check out, and we left our bags at the concierge before heading out for the day! Our ferry was scheduled in the evening at 7.30pm. We literally had a day to enjoy ourselves in Batam.

We took a grab to De'Sands Cafe and Restaurant for lunch. It is a super aesthetic spot that looks like Santorini. There is an admission fee to be collected to enter the Santorini-inspired spot. Each admit was INR25K which came with a bottle of mineral water.

De’Sands Cafe is gorgeous, as we felt like we’ve been transported to a Mediterranean-inspired haven in just seconds. Inspired by the iconic Santorini in Greece with stunning white and blue buildings, I couldn’t resist myself to take photos against the white-washed walls.

We took plenty of photos against this aesthetic spot!

We opted to sit indoor for the air-conditioning instead of the alfresco area in order to beat the heat.

After our meal, we headed back to the villa to claim back our bags, and Baby and I went separately from them, as I had a mission from my boss to accomplish. He asked me to buy 2 big boxes of Kueh Lapis from LaMoist, so Baby and I decided to head to the shopping mall nearest to the ferry terminal as the weight of the Kueh Lapis is no joke!

Baby was craving for Bakso, so we decided to have our dinner at Bakso Lapangan Tembak Senayan JakartaThe damage was affordable and we received a good service from the friendly staff.

I did some shopping at OH! SOME, Guardian, Miniso and grocery shopping at Hypermart before heading back to the ferry terminal to meet up with them. It was a rejuvenating getaway, and I look forward to our next weekend staycation again!
