The 20-metre corridor into  KOMA Restaurant has a replica Torii-Gate which kept reminding me about a previous visit to the Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto! With Japan's borders opening again without restrictions, I'm certain I will head to Japan again soon! I made a dinner reservation to celebrate Baby’s birthday at KOMA Singapore which is located at the Marina Bay Sands . This eatery place is always full, and we finally managed to secure a spot at the restaurant. We didn't mind that it was a counter seat! The attire at KOMA is semi-casual, so do note that no slippers are allowed! We started off with the Beef Gyoza , and it tasted awesome! We also ordered the the Assorted Tempur a, as they were our all-time favorite! The Grilled Eggplant was perfectly grilled and it tasted pretty good, and the C alifornia Sushi Roll s were delicious too! We shared the Spicy Tofu Pot and Truffle Fried Rice . ‘Picnic by the Bay’ is a fundraiser organized for the very first time by En Community Services Society, which was held at the S upertree Grove Lawn in Gardens by the Bay. The core value of this event is to encourage family bonding with the senior members in a family and to showcase their talents and vibrant, active ageing lifestyles. This event was also held on the same day as the Mid-Autumn Festival, and it was a great outing for families to have fun and joy together. Tracy and I attended this morning event, whereby we were given a picnic mat. We enjoyed the stage performances while sitting on the mat!  The event kicked off with a mass exercise in the morning, followed by other stage performances include choir and dance performances by school children and volunteer performers. The public attendance turn out was pretty good, and there were nearly 200 seniors who have picked up musical instruments during their silver years. After my trip to Paris in June, I decided to give Baby an early birthday celebration by having a short getaway. We purchased our air tickets from Scoot to Chiangmai, Thailand . The flying time was about 2hrs 40 mins. Prior to our departure, we purchased an airport-hotel transfer via Klook that cost us only SGD5 (we used our points that we had earned from our Paris trip to redeem the transfer cost) for a one-way trip. The car journey took only 15mins to get to our pre-booked hotel, the 'Chala Number 6 Chiang Mai' . It is located in the old city of Chiangmai . There is something worth mentioning of the hotel - I felt welcomed by the smiling and friendly staff throughout my stay, and these little gestures will always brighten up my day!
