[Meryl's birthday celebration] Café Monochrome + The Wizard Brew

This is Singapore’s first Starbucks® store that is housed in a 2-storey heritage shophouse in Chinatown. I loved how the “星巴克®” (Starbucks®) was written in elegant Chinese calligraphy.

Picture-Perfect Moment: The café's pastel-colored exterior created an ideal backdrop for a photo!

I met up with the clique 7 on a random weekend, and we settled our dinner celebration/gathering at Café Monochrome which is located at Chinatown

The café bears a black and white interior that looks like a flat 2D illustration in photos.

Lately, the food served from cafés are getting pricey these days, and I do admit that Café Monochrome has significantly increased their prices as compared to my last visit way back in 2018!

We had a delightful dinner, and we enjoyed our dinner very much. After our meal, we walked over to The Wizard Brew - a new Harry Potter-themed Café for all fans of the book, which is also located at Chinatown area.

The Wizard Brew is tucked away in a third-storey shophouse along Trengganu Street, and it is in a bit of a hidden spot with its street-level sign easily missed at first glance.

Our magical experience started from the entrance, with a talking eyeball door knob! The eyeball roars out warnings) when you push the button. Upon entry, we were greeted with various wizard-themed photo spots.

It has a good mix of specialty cocktails and unique desserts, along with the usual western menu items.

The Rum-based Phoenix Fire Cocktail comes with orange juice, lime juice, grenadine and rum. Using a combination of rum and cinnamon powder to conjure up an almost-Phoenix-like apparition, this cocktail gives you a run for your money with an epic fire show!

I ordered the Sparkulous, another rum-based DIY cocktail, which is said to be a purple potion that turns pink and bubbly when a spell is cast nearby.

Baby ordered another DIY Cocktail - Wizard’s Brew. The drink comes deconstructed, and you’ll have to pour the 4 ingredients into the cauldron-inspired cup.

We ordered the Witches’ Hat as Meryl’s birthday cake to end our gathering!

Happy Birthday to Meryl! Our paths first crossed each other way back in 2014, and we've been friends for more than a decade!

The Wizard's Brew is an absolute gem as we enjoyed fun experiences with a touch of fantasy. The interesting decor and interactive elements, like the flaming drinks and magical desserts captured our imagination. It is a memorable outing that offers both delightful treats and wizardry experiences!
